Eligibility for the CTET 2021: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) publishes the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) eligibility requirements, which are listed below.
Age Limit
- To be eligible for CTET 2021, the applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- There are no age limits, however, the candidate must be at least 17 years old.
Educational Qualification Requirements
Candidates have to fulfil different eligibility conditions to be a Primary or Elementary Teacher. CTET Eligibility 2021 requirements are stated below for Paper 1 and Paper 2:
CTET Eligibility 2021 for Paper 1: Classes I-V
Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with minimum 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Applicants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with minimum 45% marks) in accordance with the NCTE, Regulations, 2002.
OR
Aspirants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 4 years Bachelors’s Degree of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution (with at least 50% marks).
OR
Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Special Education (with at least 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with at least 50% marks) and Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/Institution.
CTET Eligibility 2021 for Paper 2: Classes VI-VIII
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation and also must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with minimum 50% marks) and passed or appearing in the first year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution.
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with minimum 45% marks) and passed or appearing in 1 year of Bachelors Degree in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Regulations in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared the Graduation of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared the Graduation of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
OR
Candidates must have cleared the Graduation in B.Ed. Programs recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/CTET.
NOTE: There will be 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for you if you belong to SC/ST/OBC/Person with Disabilities category.
